Family Engagement
It takes a village to raise a child is a popular proverb with a clear message: the whole community has an essential role to play in the growth and development of its young people. Research has repeatedly demonstrated the positive impact parent involvement, whether in school or at home, has on academic outcomes. In addition to the vital role that parents and family members play in a child’s education, the broader community too has a responsibility to assure high-quality education for all students.
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) places a strong emphasis on the need for districts and schools to actively engage with parents and family members. A Title I, Part A provision requires Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to actively engage parents and families of all students in the development of state and local education plans, school improvement plans, as well as Title I plans (ESSA Section 1116).
Bradley School District 61 values our families. In fact, our mission statement states, "In partnership with parents and community, the Bradley School District is striving to provide the best education for every student, every day. We want all our students to be confident, hardworking, and successful people".
Thanks parents and families for your partnership as we strive for excellence together!
