    Good morning.

Today is the first day of ESY (extended school year). I know summer school is very different this year but we will make the best of it.

Students should already know their Zoom meeting ID and password as well as the time they will meet with me. It is best for them to use a computer and not a phone.

We will meet every day for at least 30 minutes on a Zoom call and after our meeting, each student will have an assignment to complete. All assignments can be found on Google Classroom - Andreina ESY.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Good morning families!

Students should continue to work on the packet and matrix you picked up last week.

Next week, Tuesday, May 19th, from 10 am to 12 noon, the staff of Bradley West will be lining the sidewalks for a reverse parade. We will be there and hope you and your families will drive by to say "See you later" to us as we prepare for summer vacation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me!

Good morning families! Today is a planning day for Bradley Elementary staff and we are working on the next (and final) remote learning packet.

This packet will include a math packet that is all math review. It is important to keep up with the skills we learned in 4th and 5th grade.

In addition, there is a Gratitude Packet. This packet focuses on being grateful. If there is one thing I have learned from this remote learning experience, it is to be grateful for the things I have. I miss my students and seeing their faces every day. I am grateful to the families who have allowed me to be a part of their lives. Thank you for sharing your student with me!

We are continuing with the process of doing the math and language arts I send home in packets in place of what is on the matrix. Please continue to email the matrix to either me or the classroom teacher.

The Kankakee Area Special Education Cooperative (KASEC) is asking all parents to complete the following Parent-Student Needs Survey.  These surveys help us improve our services to students who have IEPs.

    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020ParentNeedsAssessmentSurvey

    Important Dates:

    • Monday, May 4th is the pickup day for meals at Bradley Central. They are available from 10 am to 2 pm.
    • Tuesday, May 5th is the pickup day for packets at Bradley West. They are available from 8:15 to 1:15 and again from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.

You should have already received a message from the classroom teacher about retrieving your child’s belongings. We cleaned out lockers and desks and everything is ready to be picked up on Tuesday. If you cannot pick up items on Tuesday, May 5th, the next day to retrieve your child’s belongings will be Thursday, May 21st from 8:15 to 1:15 and from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.

Zoom meetings will still be held on Monday at 10 am, Tuesday at 12:30 pm, Wednesday at 10 am, Thursday at 12:30 pm. Friday will be Zoom on demand, meaning I will Zoom with kids who need extra help. Our Zoom meetings have been very fun and social and I encourage the kids to join.

    Good morning!

Food pickup is today at Bradley Central.

Zoom today and Wednesday at 10 am. Zoom Tuesday at 12:30. No Zoom on Thursday because I have to go to school and pack up student belongings. The classroom teachers have sent out an email about the process for retrieving belongings.

The packets you have at home (or are accessing online) are for this week, as well. Students should do the reading and math activities I send home in place of the reading and math on the matrix.

Please remember to either print the matrix, sign and date it, and send me a photo OR return the matrix to the school on the next packet pickup day. The only work we need returned right now are the matrices.

I'm attaching the Matrix for this week because it includes PE, Music, Art, and SEL activities.

Good morning. This week's assignments all center around Earth Day (which is TODAY!). Normally we would read an article together in class. Since that can't happen, I made a recording of the article that students can listen to, if they choose.

Here is the link to the video version of the recording: Earth Day Video Recording

Students can listen to the recording or they can listen and follow along with the video.

    Have a great day!

    Monday, April 20th

By now, I’m sure you are all aware that Governor Pritzker has closed all school buildings for the remainder of the school year. Please know that even though the buildings are closed, learning is still happening and I will continue to provide educational opportunities for your student.

Packet pickups are tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21st from 8:15 to 1:15 and again from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. Please, if you need something, go in and ask. They will also have copies of the 5th grade matrix as well as extra learning opportunities.

The packet for the next two weeks is themed around Earth Day.  There is no daily math or daily language review for this packet. For some students, the readings are above their reading level. I will make recordings of the readings and have them available online for students to listen to. The final assessment for this unit is a writing activity very similar to something we would complete in class.

I will continue to Zoom Monday through Thursday as previously scheduled. I am also available to help students over the phone, if necessary.

If you have not done so already, please fill out this survey to help me and the classroom teachers better meet your needs during this time.

Please continue to send in photos of the finished matrices. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks and have a great week!

    FlipGrid Friday...and Saturday and Sunday…Challenge

Good morning families. Today is a planning day for Bradley Elementary staff and we are working on the next week or so of remote learning.

The theme for the next packet is Earth Day. Students will be learning about Earth Day and working on activities on that theme.

Monday, April 20th is the pickup day for lunches at Bradley Central.

Tuesday, April 21st is the pickup day for packets at Bradley West.

Now for the challenge. I posted a new video topic on FlipGrid titled “My favorite games and activities.” I want the students to respond with a video of their own and tell me their favorite game or activity.

    Good afternoon families!

Just a quick announcement that tomorrow, Thursday, April 16th, I will be having my Zoom meeting at 10 am NOT at 12:30. I have another meeting I need to attend at that time. I apologize for the incovenience.

If your student wants to join my Zoom tomorrow, it will be at 10 am.

    Thanks! Have a great afternoon.

    Good Morning Families!

Today and Friday the 17th are no work days for the kiddos. They will need to do the same matrix this week as they did last week (3 days last week, three days this week). Matrix Week 2 and 3

Please send a picture of the completed matrix (dated) so I can give your child credit for doing the work. You can email or text a picture to me OR to the classroom teacher. The matrix for last week should be turned in by tomorrow.

Remember that students can do the math and reading/writing that I assign instead of the math/ELA listed on the matrix. Just initial the corresponding box. The matrix provides PE, Music, and SEL activities that I am not providing.

The next pickup for packets is Tuesday, April 21st. Please remember that only the matrix is required to be turned in right now. All matrixes will be graded as pass or incomplete. Turning them in will only improve your child's grade and not harm it.

If you have not already done so, please let me know if you need a packet.

I will keep you posted at the week goes on. I hope you are staying healthy and safe at home!

    Ms. A
