Children should wear:  black pants or skirts, black socks or tights/leggings, and black shoes or boots.  Shoes should be all black.  We wear band polos, given by Mr. Williams to all band students.
OUR NICE POLO SHIRTS SHOULD  be clean and reserved for concerts.  These will be handed back in at the end of our year.
    *HANDOUTS/SCHEDULES/CALENDARS
A group lesson schedule is given at school for AFTERNOON BAND LESSONS.  Students should bring their instrument to school along with their book and a pencil.
***Monthly schedules will be sent home with all band members to show all FULL BAND rehearsals.

    *HOME PRACTICE*
Students should practice at least 15-20 minutes per day.  Please check your child's chart in the front of their lesson book.  PRACTICE EQUALS IMPROVEMENT.  Please help your child decide a time and place to practice each day.  Try not to let them miss. Keeping the same time each day will help your child stay on schedule.  A parent should total the weeks practice each Sunday evening and sign the book where shown. These totals are recorded by Mr. Williams each week during their afternoon lesson.

PRACTICE TIME DAILY = SUCCESS IN BAND!!!
    BROKEN/NON-WORKING INSTRUMENTS

Please don't attempt to fix an instrument that doesn't work.  Bring it to school for the director to evaluate.  The same goes for stuck Brass mouthpieces.  Basic tools can ruin a mouthpiece.  I'm glad to perform basic repairs or pull mouthpieces.
Please call Mr. Williams with all questions/concerns.   815/933-2216, ext. #292
Don't wait until a child is lost in band. Call me right away to get YOUR CHILD back on track.
Once again, DAILY PRACTICE TIME IS ESSENTIAL!!!
